Burning instructions for the safe burning of candles:
- The candle is a living light. It must be cared for and, as an "open flame," should not be left burning unattended.
- Do not burn candles too close together or one below the other.
- Remove matchstick remnants, wick pieces or other foreign objects from the burner plate
- Candles do not tolerate drafts, so they begin to soot, drip and burn down on one side.
- If the candle visibly soots, carefully trim the wick while it is burning and extinguish it if necessary.
- If the wick is burning on one side, carefully bend it to the side. Do not bend or break a solidified wick.
- A candle rim that's too high can be trimmed while still warm. Candles with overhanging rims should be trimmed regularly (at least every 4 hours).
- If possible, burn candles until the entire burning plate is liquid.
- To extinguish the candle, dip the wick into the liquid wax and then stand it upright again.
- Always burn a candle on a protective coaster.
