As the wire should look as little as possible in the finished wreath or arrangement, it is usually offered in discreet, vanishing colors such as green or black. Plug wire is made of aluminum or similar metals and offers a medium-density. With a little power, it is possible to form loops from the wire and these around stems, roots, etc. around set. For many plants and flowers, it is advisable to insert the wire instead several centimeters deep into the plant, which should give these decorative elements already a sufficient support. The other end of the pintle is either inserted into floral foam or wrapped around a wreath or a root, which serve as the basis of the arrangement. In principle, ordinary flower trimmer wire can be used as a pintle, depending on the size and severity of the elements to be incorporated, however, this wire may prove to be too thin, which gives the finished arrangement a little appealing form by poorly positioned or falling out decorative elements.
