amphora
The term amphora in the original sense refers to an ancient vase form, as it was mainly used in the ancient Greeks, in the 21st century, the term is also understood a planter, which is based in its outer shape of the form of earlier amphorae. A classic amphora presents itself as a lofty vase with two handles, which was formerly used less for decoration than for water transport. To facilitate movements such as pouring water with the amphora, this originally had no flat, but a rounded bottom surface and thus could not be placed upright. Today's amphorae are offered almost exclusively with a flat floor surface, dimensions are smaller variants, which were made especially for hanging on the balcony and terrace. Today amphorae in their various sizes are used wherever classical flower phases or planters can be found, but amphorae are rather natural in appearance and made of clay and terra cotta, for example. The nature of these materials ensures that amphorae are also used optimally in gardens, parks and other open spaces to support the natural aesthetics of the landscape.
