Impruneta is in the original sense the name of a small community in the Italian province of Florence, but in the artistic environment and in horticulture the term is used synonymously for high-quality ceramics that have their roots in this city. The term is inextricably linked to the production of terracotta clay pots, traditionally using the special clay that is found geologically in and around Impruneta in the region. Impruneta is the name for a particularly high quality of the terracotta, which brings a correspondingly higher price in specialist shops. For this, the customer can expect an optimal quality and strength of the material, which proves frost resistance even at higher sub-zero temperatures and can therefore be used perfectly outdoors. The use of baked clay as a material for vases and other decorative objects was established many centuries ago, even then the quality of the clay from the region around Florence was known and appreciated. In modern horticulture, pottery that comes from real clay from the Impruneta region is only rarely offered, but garden enthusiasts can still look for this quality level with the desire for exquisite and, above all, durable pottery and purchase authentic Impruneta goods for a slightly higher price.
