The term Arrangement comes from the French language and means in its original sense compilation, the term is especially in the arts and crafts used its application. Also in floristry, the arrangement is thus established as a term and refers here either the collection of flowers and other plants to a bouquet, bouquet or arrangement or the combination of several bouquets and arrangements to a Gesamtkunstwerk. The use of the term arrangement also implies that it is not an arbitrary combination of the elements used, but was worked according to certain criteria and rules such as the color and morphology. Through an arrangement, an artist, to whom the florist can be counted in the broadest sense, can also develop his own character and combine flowers and plants in an individual way. The targeted breaking of rules of aesthetics for the creation of something new is just as allowed here as the integration of other decorative elements in an arrangement that are not directly related to floristry. Especially in landscaping and horticulture, arrangements of this kind can be discovered in which flowerbeds or ornamental gardens with decorative figures or fountains are additionally decorated. In addition to subjective aesthetics, geometric or mathematical criteria can serve as the basis for an artistic arrangement.
