The Andrahten refers to a craft activity in modern floristry and floral tying. Using wire and similar easily bendable wires, the attachment of flowers, cones, flowers and other decorative elements to arrangements and wreaths takes place in the Andrahten. Even the insertion of flowers and plant parts in moss or floral foam, which were previously attached to the wire, is referred to by the term Andrahten. The purpose of the activity is to give all used elements a secure hold on the basis used and to use the complete work as an aesthetic floral or plant decoration for various occasions. The art of boarding, which is learned as a florist during the apprenticeship as a craftsman, consists above all in the appropriate handling of flowers and flowers, which, despite being attached to the wire, should continue to retain a natural appearance. In addition, in a finished wreath or arrangement no wire should be visible, with all the decorative elements is therefore the entire surface of the arrangement or the wreath to fill. If this is not possible due to technical reasons or because of the special shape of a arrangement, it is also possible to use colored wire for the wire, in which the metallic base has been supplemented by a coating of plastic or paint.
