The lettuce head consists of three outer leaves and three leaves inside the lettuce which are typically folded into each other like rosettes. The lettuce leaves are bright green and a little light green at the base of the stem. The leaves have the wavy leaf edges typical of lettuce and natural leaf veins and are therefore hardly distinguishable from real lettuce leaves.
