The flower necklace is a decorative ornament that has been worn in many cultures around the world for centuries and fulfills various ritual purposes. Among the best known examples is the flower necklace on the American island of Hawaii, which is named Lei among the natives and is now often given to tourists as a sign of welcome. So in the Scandinavian region flower chains can be found at spring festivals and adorn the neck or head of girls and young women. Mankind, which belongs to the field of natural aesthetics and embellish the human body with plants and flowers. For reasons of nature conservation, it is often dispensed with today's flowers for the purpose of doing so for the Hawaiian flower chain. The traditional meaning, which occupies the flower chain in many cultures, is however not lost and occasionally in Germany on festive occasions for use, for example as natural table decoration.
