floristry F like fall flowers The floristry is a field that deals with flowers and other plants and refers both to the appropriate cultivation and care as well as the artistic composition of plants of all kinds. Essential basics of floristry are taught in this country in a three-year vocational training, which includes both the creative and technical aspects and thus represents a more creative challenge than training in other, classical craft professions. Beyond this vocational training, scientists are also dealing with floristry as a branch of biology in order to find out more about flowers and their properties. While the native flora has already been researched extensively, modern floristry continues to present great challenges to all interested researchers and florists, who are interested in exotic specimens, for example, and would like to cultivate them in our latitudes. As a term a little wider, the term floristry can also be used synonymously with floral tying, as used in modern flower shops. In this context, it is the task of floristry to discover suitable flowers for different occasions, which have an optimal color harmony to each other and can be added to complimented to delightful bouquets. This aspect too is part of today's training as a florist and thus of applied floristry.
